Herzing University is a school with several ground campuses around the country and an online education division. Established in 1970 as a computer training institute in Wisconsin, the school would eventually expand to offer degrees in professional areas like business, nursing, healthcare, and technology. The school's headquarters remain in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Students have the choice of attending one of the school's many campuses or earning their degree completely online. There are also opportunities for attending classes in a hybrid format with some classes taken on campus and others taken online. Degree options at the university range from certificates and diplomas to associates degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees.

Some of the campuses available to students outside the Milwaukee area include one in Akron, Ohio, which was opened in 1970, another in Atlanta, Georgia, which was originally a junior college opened in the 1940s, and a campus in Birmingham, Alabama, which was acquired by Herzing several years after it was established. The most recent campuses to join the Herzing family include Orlando, Florida. Available degrees at the university depend on the campus where a student wishes to attend, but the online division offers all of its degrees to students no matter where they live.
