Mid-America Christian University was originally opened in September 1953 in Houston by Dr. Max Gaulke with an inaugural class of 26 men as the South Texas Bible Institute. In 1955, it switched from three- to four-year education and became the Gulf Coast Bible College. First accredited in 1966, it formed a covenant with the Executive Council of the Church of God two years later. By 1985, the Mid-America Bible College was born after the 65-acre, eight-building Oklahoma City campus was dedicated. From 2009 to 2012, recruitment skyrocketed by 169 percent to now serve 2,558 Evangels as a private, coed Wesleyan liberal arts NAIA member. Mid-America Christian University Accreditation Details

In January 2017, Mid-America Christian University submitted its mid-cycle interim report to the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association to continue the Level III accreditation for six more years under its fourth president, Dr. John Fozard. Based over 805 miles north via Interstate 55 in Chicago, this respected 19-state Great Plains accreditor is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation to certify the Title-IV eligibility of Mid-America’s one associate, 18 bachelor’s, four master’s, and four certificate programs, even online. Mid-America Christian University Application Requirements

Admission to Mid-America Christian University is labeled “least selective” by the U.S. News & World Report because 100 percent of its 757 Fall 2016 applicants were okayed. Tuition and Financial Aid

For 2018-19, Mid-America Christian University will charge traditional tuition of $711 per credit or $17,064 yearly full-time. Mandatory fees add $1,270 for on-campus residents. Living at the Oklahoma City campus’ facilities also costs $3,710 for room and $4,326 for board. Fortunately, online costs are lower than the $26,370 traditional annual price though. Online master’s tuition is presently $594 per credit. The Master of Ministry costs $23,166 total. Master of Business Administration students online spend $21,384 overall.
